Cedarcreek kennels is based in the North East of England near Durham and we have been involved with Malamutes for over a decade. At the moment we have nine Malamutes: Dakota, Tonka, Gambit, Chuck, Dallas, Nemo, Texas, Austin & Shakira. All our dogs are first and foremost much loved family pets. We believe in beauty, type and structure breeding to the Kennel Club standard. When you obtain a Malamute from us you gain access to our years of experience in breeding, owning and training Malamutes. Alaskan Malamutes are not for everyone and nor are they for every living condition. We work hard to breed and socialize our Malamutes so that they can be the best citizens possible. However, it is not only the genetics that come into play, Malamutes require a firm yet loving owner and an activity. We believe that our dogs need to do something more than just sit in the home as a pet. They are a working dog so we like to give them something to do. Take the time to train them for: the Good Citizen Scheme, obedience, conformation, agility, weight pulling, sledding, fly ball, backpacking and any other activity you can think of. A busy Malamute is a happy Malamute! As breeders, we believe that a Malamutes should be a part of your family.

Cedarcreek Alaskan Malamutes

We saw our first Mal in 1996 and knew then that they were the breed for us. After some research and visiting several breeders we were put on a waiting list and 12 months down the line we got our first Malamute, Storm. After a chance visit to a working rally we decided to get our second Mal and the rest is history.

Myself and Paddy have attended the Alaskan Malamute Club Of The United Kingdom breed seminars, and i have attended Alaskan Malamute Club of America’s Judges breed study group. I have also been privileged to judge this magnificent breed. We are members of the Alaskan Malamute Club of the United Kingdom and abide by the club code of ethics including hip scoring and eye testing. We are also members of the Alaskan Malamute Working Association, the Sled Dog Association of Scotland and the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain.

We also look after other people's Mals when the owners take a break, and help out with Alaskan Malamute rescue any way we can including fostering. We are always here for help and advice even if it’s just something trivial, so don’t be afraid to pick up the phone to talk to us.
